Mrs Shameela Aslam d/o Kh. Zahir Alam was born at Multan. She obtained the degrees of B.Ed. and MA (Islamic Studies) from Baha-ud-Din Zakariya University, Multan. She served as Lecturer at Saint Joseph Hall and at Islamia College of Education, Multan. She served as Member, District Council, Vehari and as Member, District Public Safety and Police Complaints Commission, Vehari during 2001-08. An eminent political and social worker, who has been serving in a number of NGOs like Civil Society Network, Vehari, Aurat Foundation, W3P, etc. She has been working on issues like violence against women and children and has received three awards for her best performance on working on these issues. She has been elected as Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in general election 2008 against one of the seats reserved for women and is a Member of Standing Committee on Social Welfare, Women Development and Bait-ul-Maal
