Mr Joel Amir Sahotra son of Mr Peter John Sahotra was born on April 22, 1972 at Faisalabad. He graduated in 1992 from University of the Punjab, Lahore. He served as Councillor, Municipal Corporation Faisalabad during 1998; as Member, Zila Council, Faisalabad during 2001-02; as Secretaty General, Voice for the Voiceless during 2001-08, and as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 2002-07. He has returned to Punjab Assembly for the second consecutive term in general elections 2008 against one of the seats reserved for non-muslim minorities. He has been appointed by the Chief Minister of the Punjab, as Coordinator for Advisory Council for Minorities, Government of the Punjab. He has travelled to China, Spain, Itlay, Holland, UK, Dubai and France. His father served as Member of Punjab Assembly during 1985-88 and also functioned as Parliamentary Secretary for Social Welfare; as Member of National Assembly during 1988-90, 1990-93 and 1997-99, and also served as Minister for State for Minorities Affairs. His mother served as elected Municipal Councillor, Municipal Corporation, Faisalabad.
