Mr Abid Hussain Chattha son of Mr Naeem Hussain Chattha was born on April 2, 1972 at Sheikhupura. A highly qualified person, who obtained the degrees of M.Sc. (Internal Affairs) in 1993 from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad; LL.B. in 1995 from University of the Punjab, Lahore; M.A. (International Relations) in 1996 from Bostan University, USA; and LL.M. (Corporate Law) in 1997 from Colombia University, New York, USA. He has been engaged in extensive literacy, academic and extracurricular pursuits. As a practising lawyer, he has a vast experience to his credit and has held distinguished positions. He has been elected Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in General Elections 2002. He belongs to a famous political family; his grandfather, Ch Muhammad Hussain Chattha, was Member, Punjab Legislative Assembly during 1946-47; Member, West Punjab Legislative Assembly during 1947-49 and also served as Parliamentary Secretary during this period; Member, Punjab Legislative Assembly during 1951-55 and served as Senior Minister in the cabinet of Mian Mumtaz Daultana; Member, Constituent Assembly of Pakistan during 1962-65. His father was Member District Council, Sheikhupura during 1983-87; Member, Punjab Council during 1984-85, Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 1985-88, Member National Assembly during 1990-93 and also functioned as Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Women Affairs during 1991-93 and Member National Assembly during 1997-99; and was elected Senator in 2003.
