Dr Farzana Nazir daughter of Mr Nazir Ahmad Ghazi obtained the degree of MBBS from Fatima Jinnah Medical College, Lahore; MS Urology (Research Professional Prostrate Cancer) from University of the Punjab, Lahore; and passed IFPLP from California University, USA. She has also attended various training courses in different subjects of medicine at different Medical Colleges and Hospitals of Pakistan. A medical doctor by profession, she served as Registrar in Urology Department; as Senior Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Medical Unit No.I at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Lahore. She has also the honour to attend a number of International Conferences including “Safe Motherhood Health Conference” held at Essex, UK. She was a Chief Guest at “Health Asia” Conference held in New Delhi, India. A medical research paper published in “The Journal of Vascular Access” is to her credit. She is also active in social work and participated in various campaigns/drives to promote health awareness among general public. She is a Chairperson of an organization namely “Global Alliance for Kashmiris” working for the welfare of people of Kashmir. She remained Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 2002-07 and also functioned as Parliamentary Secretary for Health. She has returned to Punjab Assembly for the second term in general elections 2013 against one of the seats reserved for women. She has travelled to USA, UK, UAE, Saudi Arabia, India, Korea and Afghanistan. Her father was awarded Tehreek-e-Pakistan Gold Medal for his meritorious services.
